The PCLF had been built to satisfy workforce needs in rural Oregon for main care providers. PCLF individuals qualify for forgivable loans for tuition and charges just, in return for a site obligation to an authorized rural Oregon training web site.

If granted, students may get a number of many years of tuition and charges to pay for their own health care training into the scheduled system by which these are typically participating. To qualify for PCLF, students must:
maintain good standing that is academic AND
Be taking part in the Oregon AHEC Scholars Program or accepted to an approved Oregon rural training track (Western University: D.O.); AND
Anticipate to begin training in main care at an authorized practice that is rural within 3 months of graduation or conclusion of residency (if relevant)
For PCLF main care is understood to be:
Physicians: Family Medicine, General Internal Medicine, General Pediatrics, General Operation, Community Psychiatry, Gerontology and OB/GYN
Physician Assistants: Family Medicine, General Internal Medicine, General Pediatrics, General Surgical Treatment, Community Psychiatry, Gerontology and OB/GYN
Nurse Practitioners: Family, Adult, Nurse Midwife, Gerontology, Pediatric, and Psychiatric Psychological State
Dentists: General Adult and General Pediatric
Pharmacists: General Pharmacy and Psychiatric Pharmacy
Upon conclusion of training, PCLF individuals must:
Be contracted to rehearse in main care at an authorized Oregon that is rural practice within 3 months of graduation or conclusion of residency (if relevant); AND
